At CES 2016, ASUS has announced the MB169C+ and the company claims the device is the world’s first 15.6” portable monitor. The display features a single USB Type-C port for both video and power transmission. The MB169C+ tips the scale at 800g and has a svelte profile of 8.5mm. It appears to share the same full HD IPS panel as the MB169B+; the older portable monitor is powered by a USB 3.0 port. Its profile and weight are the same as the newer MB169C+. The main difference is its upgraded USB Type-C connector.

The ASUS MB169C+ should play well with any system that has a USB Type-C connector and it will make an ideal productivity companion to the notebooks like the Transformer 2-in-1 hybrid notebooks or the liquid-cooled ROG GX700. If the company is kind enough to offer the portable monitor in different hues, a gold MB169C+ will be an exquisite addition to the Apple MacBook. As usual, the price and availability of the new portable display are still under wraps.
