Cherry Mobile continues to spice up the octa-core craze in the local mobile device scene by introducing the Cosmos One. The company’s fifth octa-core smartphone for 2014, the Cosmos One follows Cherry Mobile’s preceding releases such as the Cosmos Z2, Omega Infinity, Magnum S, and the Pulse.

Powered by MediaTek’s MT6592M octa-core chip clocked at 1.4GHz, the Cosmos One comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), and Mali-450MP GPU. On the front, the Cosmos One flaunts a 5.5-inch HD IPS touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera above. The device’s main camera has a 14-megapixel sensor and is equipped with LED flash. The dual-SIM Cosmos One supports 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Wi-Fib/g/n (Miracast and portable Wi-Fi hotspot are supported too). The Cosmos One runs on the latest Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS and is bundled with a 2400mAh battery module.

Hyped up as Cherry Mobile’s 5th anniversary smartphone, the Cosmos One is available only on August 30, 2014 in select stores for PhP 6,999.
