Dell has dropped its first major announcement prior to CES 2017, as it revealed that the XPS 13 is now available as a convertible notebook.

Dell has also announced that the new convertible notebook will now be called as the XPS 13 2-in-1.

The XPS 13 uses Intel's new Kaby Lake Core i5 and Core i7 processors, which are actually Core M-class processors. As a result, it will be less powerful than the regular XPS 13 that uses regular Intel Core processors.

On the flip side, the new XPS 13 2-in-1 is fan-less and is sleeker than the original. It also sports the InfinityEdge display, making the XPS 13 2-in-1 as one of the most compact 13-inch convertibles around.

It loses full-sized USB ports and the SD card reader, however, it now has a microSD card reader and two USB Type-C ports – one of which supports Thunderbolt 3.
