EMC Looks Back at 2012, Looks Forward to 2013

EMC proudly announced its business growth in the Philippines last year, in spite of the global uncertainty and economic issues around the world. The company experienced a double-digit growth of 26%, while its storage portfolio grew by 28%. Storage is one of the core businesses of EMC. Moreover, the market research firm IDC reported that EMC Philippines continued to lead in the midrange and high-end external disk storage markets with a year-to-date total of 65.03% and 48.01% respectively.

For 2013, EMC identified four disruptive but opportunistic technology trends which include mobility, social networking, cloud computing, and Big Data. EMC will address storage needs of firms by introducing new innovations in addition to VMAX, VNX, and Isilon families of primary storage arrays. Seeing cloud computing as another big opportunity, EMC announced its commitment to provide solutions that will help firms architect and configure their cloud environment. With the platforms offered through its Greenplum division, EMC will also help companies to get the most out of Big Data by helping them in gathering and collecting valuable insights.
