Ford Philippines revealed its fifth consecutive year of record sales with 2017 retail sales up by 9% compared to the previous year (or 36,632 vehicles sold), which most of them attributed from the records made by the Everest, EcoSport, Ranger, and the Explorer.

Ford capped the record year with its all-time best monthly performance, with its December sales skyrocketed by nearly half (45%) year-on-year to 4,639 vehicles. The brand’s four signature vehicular models delivered a series of record monthly sales to close out 2017.

“The Everest, EcoSport, and the Ranger continued to drive our retail performance in 2017 and remain among the leaders in their respective, highly competitive vehicle segments,” said Bertrand Lessard, managing director of Ford Philippines. “We’re confident that we’ll carry our sales momentum into this year, while further building on our Ford customer and ownership service experience.”

The mid-sized SUV Ford Everest remained the brand’s top-seller in the Philippines in 2017 with full-year sales rising slightly from the prior year to 12,455 vehicles, including the all-time best month in December wherein sales increased by 48% YoY to 1,582 units.

On the other hand, the compact SUV Ford EcoSport has achieved a record full-year performance with its annual sales rising 13% to 11,299 vehicles, including a trend-setter 1,450 vehicles in December – or up by 29% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the segment-defining Ranger remained the second best-selling pickup truck in the Philippines with full-year sales accounted for 10,658 vehicles, a 31% increase compared to previous year. The Ranger’s exceptional year was capped by its best-ever month in December, a whopping 87% YoY increase in sales that saw them sold 1,433 vehicles.

The premium Explorer SUV amassed a 9% increase in their sales this 2017 to 1,125 vehicles. Also, Ford Mustang also contributed to the record year of its own with a sales increase of 28% to 407 vehicles.

Aside from the sale statistics, Ford continues to expand its dealer network in the past year with the opening of three new dealership outlets in Roxas, Dumaguete, and Surigao, bringing the total number of branches in the Philippines to 46.

Ford also launched the Ford Island Conquest, a nationwide experiential roadshow last year destined to reach more customers and provide first-hand experience with the Everest, Ranger, and the EcoSport by combining a scaled-down showroom with a unique and immersive test-drive environment.
