GeForce Experience will now be NVIDIA's preferred platform for distributing driver updates

This will change the way you receive driver updates for your GeForce graphics card.

Along side earlier announcements of new 4K support for GameStream and higher resolution broadcasting to Twitch and YouTube, NVIDIA is also making huge changes to the way it distributes driver updates to owners of its GeForce graphics cards.

Presently, driver updates are available on a regular basis at NVIDIA's own website and through GeForce Experience. Come this December, GeForce Experience will become NVIDIA's preferred vehicle for distributing new drivers.

Drivers updates will also be available on their website, but this will be updated less frequently. This means gamers and users who want the latest and greatest would need to install GeForce Experience on their machines.

The reason for this is because NVIDIA has found that 90% of driver updates were delivered through GeForce Experience. Additionally, NVIDIA also wants to push its own GeForce Experience software such that it becomes a larger part of NVIDIA's ecosystem.

To push this initiative, NVIDIA is reaffirming its commitment to Game Ready Drivers - drivers that released to coincide with the release of major titles to optimize their performance. These drivers will be WHQL-certified as well.

NVIDIA has also said that they have further plans for GeForce Experience and those will be shared next year.
