To make the local YouTube environment even better, Google Philippines and Ayala Malls opened the world's first YouTube Lounge, which is a dedicated space where everyone can watch videos with less buffering and meet their favorite YouTube creators.

Sponsored by Ayala Malls, the YouTube Lounge is the first YouTube-branded space in the Philippines. The one in Greenbelt 5 opened last September 29. More YouTube lounges are expected to open at UP Town Center (October 6), Glorietta (October 13), TriNoma, (October 26), Market! Market! (November 9), and Alabang Town Center (November 16).

Additional YouTube lounges will also be placed at other Ayala Malls in Taguig, Fairview, Pampanga, Subic, Nuvali, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, and Davao before the year ends.

YouTube Creators

You can catch up with your favorite YouTube creators at these following dates and locations:

  • October 8 at UP Town Center: Janina Vela and Wil Dasovich
  • October 15 at TriNoma: Team Kramer
  • October 29 at Glorietta: Kristine Roces, Say Tioco, and Clara Benin
  • November 12 at Greenbelt: Erwan Heussaff,, Mikey Bustos, and Chris Cantada
  • November 26 at Market! Market: Lloyd Cadena, Anne Clutz, and Boogieboy
  • December 10 at Alabang Town Center: Bogart the Explorer, Ralph Jay, and Joyce Sola

One thing to look forward to with this collaboration is that mall-goers can easily access the Accelerator feature and YouTube Offline, which improve the viewers’ experience, offering faster-loading videos.

To use the Accelerator feature, simply connect to Globe's GoWifi, which is currently available at all Ayala Malls, choose a video with an Accelerator badge, and watch it with less buffering. Make sure the Accelerated box in the Settings menu is checked to watch accelerated videos. Search for a video and click the Filter drop down menu above the search results and select Accelerated.

Philippines is the first country to offer the Accelerator feature. It is also available at various locations such as airports, coffee shops, and hospitals.
