Google and Globe myBusiness, together with Digital Advertising company AdSpark, have teamed up to promote what is considered the first digital marketing convention in the Philippines for the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), dubbed DigPH.

DigPH is set to bridge the gap between consumers and SME brands by providing businesses digital marketing techniques to easily reach their target market.

According to Bela Gupta, Director of AdSpark, the convention teaches participants about high-level macroeconomic indicators, the current landscape of a typical Filipino digital customer, how the SME is growing, and how SMEs can use digital marketing to their advantage.

“In the past, when you see an ad, you go to the store, you buy, and you try the product. But the big difference now is that we have the zero moment of truth (ZMOT). What does it mean? Once you see a stimulus, or you need something, you actually research online first before you buy the product or you go to the store. That change is something that SMEs have to really learn, because Filipinos are now becoming savvier, smarter in the way they use technology, and more informed when they make that first decision. So if you’re not present, digitally, on that ZMOT, then you’re really missing out, almost like saying you are not open for business,” Ken Lingan, Google Philippine's Country Manager, shared.

DigPH is said to be the response to a recent research that shows the overwhelming desire of SMEs to adopt smarter and more affordable marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
