How Samsung Galaxy Note8’s S Pen can give you new fun ways to communicate

Like a lot of smartphone owners, the loss of a tactile keyboard hasn’t been much of an adjustment. In fact, you could probably say that given the functionality of today’s latest devices, it’s all too easy to just tap, swipe, and thumb through your screen. So as far as smartphone features go, when your fingers manage to get the job done anyway, a stylus doesn't normally top the list of user essentials. Until you get your hands on the new Samsung Galaxy Note8’s S Pen, that is.

Nio Judalena, Marketing Head for IT and Mobile of Samsung Philippines Corporation, says, “The S Pen is a trademark of the Galaxy Note heritage and it elevates the traditional smartphone experience — it is the defining feature of the Note series and with its unique features, it gives you more emotive and creative control over your digital communications.”

The enhanced S Pen mimics the familiarity and convenience of the old school ballpoint. With its smaller than 0.7mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity, it definitely offers the accuracy and ease of a real pen ‒ except that users use it to write on their screens. It doesn’t require any charging, it’s always ready whenever users need it.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has the new feature called the Live Message. This feature lets users bring messages to life by adding fun doodles, animated texts, and inserting and editing photos. With the S Pen, users can also select on areas of photos and videos just like how users draw a circle or box on photos they like on a magazine. But the great thing about this is that once users made a selection, users can draw on it, turn it into their own personal GIF, and share it on their favorite instant messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, or Whatsapp.

The Galaxy Note8’s Screen Off Memo feature now lets users jot down up to 100 pages of notes, save memos, and view and edit them without having to unlock their phone through the Always On Display. This makes note-taking a lot easier because users can quickly jot down their thoughts before they forget about it, and it also saves battery power too, since users can save notes without even having to switch on their phone to open an app.

The S Pen provides you a new level of convenience with its easy translation and conversion feature that allows you to read texts in your primary language by simply hovering over phrases or even a whole sentence. Through its Optical Character Recognition which enables translation of over 70 languages, there’s no more getting lost in translation with the S Pen at hand. Aside from that, the S Pen also converts currencies and units through the same mechanism, so now you wouldn’t have to switch to your calculator and compute the conversion on your own.

Surely, the trademark of the Note series is enough to convince consumers, but there’s more to the Galaxy Note8 than the enhanced S Pen. If you’re thinking about upgrading your current Note phone or switching to the Galaxy Note8, then you should head over to the Samsung Galaxy Studio in Bonifacio High Street. There, you can try out the S Pen to see for yourself all the cool things it can do and also discover the amazing features of the Galaxy Note8. Make sure to check out the different experience zones for an immersive look at the other impressive features of the Galaxy Note8. For the latest news, please visit the Samsung Newsroom.
