LinkedIn, known as the world’s largest professional online network, has announced today the availability of LinkedIn Lite in more than 60 countries, including the countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

LinkedIn Lite is the lighter version of the professional networking portal wherein it focuses on speed and simplicity to provide greater access to opportunities for more professionals, job seekers, and even students. Thus, helping them to make the right connections the better way, as well as to stay informed, be more productive, and get ahead in their careers.

At present, LinkedIn has more than 118 million members in the Asia Pacific, with 22 million of them are from Southeast Asia, regarded as their one of the fastest growing regions.

LinkedIn Lite can be now accessed through the web and the Android app, with the latter boasting a size of less than 1MB, can reduce data usage by as much as 80 percent, and be reached even on 2G networks. It comprised of key features such as the newsfeed, profile, networks, messaging, and notifications.

LinkedIn Lite was first launched in India and it has been a remarkable stride since then in terms of delivering value to its members. The light-version app also has become a factor of having new members signed up to LinkedIn via mobile.

“Besides providing a fast, data-light solution for professionals in slow network areas, we hope the LinkedIn Lite app will democratize access to economic opportunity,” said Akshay Kothari, Country Manager and Head of Product, LinkedIn India.  "We recognize that no matter how good, valuable and beneficial a product is, all is lost when people can't use it. Regardless of their device or location, we hope to level the playing field for all LinkedIn members so they can get closer to their dream jobs, grow their networks and become more successful.”

LinkedIn is available in 60 countries via the website at www.linkedin.com, or download the Android app in the Play Store. The full list of 60 plus countries where LinkedIn Lite is available is here http://bit.ly/2wqJ0aJ.
