Marking Netflix's first acquisition, the video streaming company recently announced that it has acquired comic book publisher Millarworld. However, the terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Millarworld was founded by comic book legend, Mark Millar, who created famed comics like Kick-Ass, Kingsman, Wanted, and also worked with Marvel on stories like Civil War and Old Man Logan.

According to Netflix, the acquisition is part of the company's plans to acquire intellectual property and ownership of stories featuring compelling characters and timeless, interwoven fictional worlds. Also, the company said that they would work with Millarworld to bring Millarworld’s portfolio of critically and fan-acclaimed character franchises to life through films, series, and kids’ shows available exclusively to Netflix members globally.

Millar, on the other hand, said, "This is only the third time in history a major comic book company has been purchased at this level. I’m so in love with what Netflix is doing and excited by their plans. Netflix is the future and Millarworld couldn’t have a better home."
