O+ Air 5-inch Octa-core Android KitKat Smartphone is Officially Out

O+ Air

After a series of teaser photos on its Facebook fan page, O+ has finally revealed the O+ Air, officially signaling the US-based company’s entry to the battle of octa-core devices in the Philippines. Similar to other octa-core devices in the market, the O+ Air is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7GHz. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and features a 5-inch touchscreen, 13-megapixel main autofocus camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 2000mAh battery module, and 8GB internal storage. With the MT6592 chip, the O+ Air uses Mali-450 GPU for graphics. On the connectivity front, the device supports 3G, Bluetooth, USB OTG, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi hotspot.

The O+ Air costs PhP 13,995, which makes it a bit pricier than the Starmobile Diamond X1 (PhP 13,990), ThL T100s (PhP 13,499), Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2 (PhP 12,999), ThL W200s (PhP 10,990), and the MyPhone Agua Infinity (PhP 12,999). In any case, it is still more affordable than the Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity (PhP 14,999), Starmobile Octa (PhP 16,990), and the ThL T200 Cyborg (PhP 14,999). But if you are waiting for the cheapest octa-core smartphone, stay tuned for SKK Mobile which would possibly release an octa-core handset for less than PhP 8,000.
