Reports about Olympus’ upcoming new lineup of Micro Four Thirds cameras have been passing around various online sources for quite a while. We’re talking about the OM-D which will add to Olympus’ several generations of OM-labeled cameras that first appeared in 1972. The official specifications are not yet revealed but some details which camera enthusiasts might like to take note of include a 16-megapixel sensor, an ISO range of up to 25,600, and a 3-inch swivel-type OLED display. Reports anticipate that the OM-D might be announced sometime this month with a price tag of US$ 1,100. If the price is right, the OM-D will fall under Olympus’ high-end product category. Olympus has already uploaded a teaser on its American website, enticing interested parties to submit their email addresses.

On another note, Olympus has introduced a number of compact cameras earlier this year.
