Popular smartphones that come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip are undoubtedly expensive. Specific examples include the HTC One (M8) (PhP 32,990), LG G3 (PhP 35,990), Samsung Galaxy S5 (PhP 34,990), and the Sony Xperia Z1 (PhP 33,990). Looking for more affordable options? Try checking out Oppo’s Find 7 and Find 7a, selling for PhP 25,990 and PhP 22,990 respectively, or the Xiaomi Mi 4 which could be the least expensive at around PhP 13,850, according to its estimated US dollar pricing of US$320, but the newly-launched device is not yet available locally. Now available through Lazada’s online shopping portal, the OnePlus One A0001 is a Snapdragon 801-powered (2.5GHz) smartphone that comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD touchscreen, Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 578MHz, 3GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage, running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS (CyanogenMod 11S). The 8.9mm thin handset’s display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 panel. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, GPS, and NFC. On the imaging front, the One A0001 is equipped with a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor IMX 214 sensor. It also features and f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. The main camera is coupled with a 5-megapixel secondary shooter. The One A0001 measures 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm and weighs 162g.

Available in tones of black and white, the OnePlus One A0001 costs PhP 14,299 on Lazada, less than the half of the price of top brands flagship offerings and closer to the possible cost of the Mi 4.
