OPPO is first mobile brand to use QR scan-to-pay system in PH

OPPO has become the first mobile brand to accept the modernized GCash Scan-to-Pay system in the Philippines.

OPPO, the Top 2  international smartphone name in the Philippines, has established a partnership with GCash, the country’s leading mobile wallet service, giving the former a distinction of being the pioneer in quick response (QR) payment method for a mobile brand. In addition, OPPO added the known scan-to-pay system as a preferred payment for seamless transactions and uplifting the brand’s touchpoints to customers through innovative store experience.

Through the new feature, customers are now able to purchase any OPPO product with ease. They would just scan a GCAsh QR code at select OPPO Concept Stores for faster, more convenient, and secure transactions. Customers can also experience perks such as cashbacks, discounts, and more exclusive offers from GCash.

“We are glad that OPPO is now part of GCash’s growing number of partners for its scan-to-pay payment option. With the growing digitization of financial services in the Philippines, our customers will be able to experience innovation through our phones and our unique store experience,” said Eason de Guzman, OPPO Philippines’s Public Relations Manager.

“We are happy that OPPO shares our vision of cashless payments in the Philippines.  We look forward to nurturing this partnership and reaching out to more OPPO customers in the future,” said Albert Tinio, President and CEO of GCash.

GCash aims to make digital payments through the use of smartphones hassle-free to help customers be spared from certain risks such as theft, losing track of their expenses, and even long queues at the payment counter.

GCash Scan-to-Pay is initially available in 30 OPPO Concept Stores nationwide. For more updates and store list, visit the OPPO Philippines Facebook page.
