From L to R: Edmon Joson, Product Manager for PayMaya Philippines; Macy Guinto, Program Manager for PayMaya Philippines; and Lawrence Ferrer, Vice President for PayMaya Philippines.

PayMaya Philippines Inc., the digital financial services arm of PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc., has found success in mobile money interoperability through a trial conducted in the Philippines between its digital payments mobile app PayMaya and Globe's GCash.

The trial was part of GSMA's initiative, which is in line with the vision of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for a National Payments Retail System (NPRS). Stakeholders of the NPRS program include banks, remittance providers, microfinance, and other financial institutions.

PayMaya's support to mobile money interoperability in the country allows users to receive and transfer funds from their PayMaya accounts to other mobile money users nationwide.

PayMaya is powered by Visa, and is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. For more information, visit www.paymaya.com.
