Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), together with Cisco, unveiled the first Spark Board in the Philippines. The device is poised to provide the latest tools and capabilities to enhance team communication and collaboration in the working areas. It has the ability to combine wireless presentation, digital whiteboarding, and video conference all at a touch of a finger. The Cisco Spark Board is an elegantly-designed device that is integrated into Cisco’s secure and powerful cloud collaboration platform, Spark.

The unit boasts a 4K camera and 12-microphone array that utilizes VoiceTrack technology to locate and allow focus on the person who is speaking during video conferences. In the process, the all-in-one configuration can possibly replace tools like video screens, whiteboards, phones, cameras, projectors, and microphones, and eliminate the need of cables required to interconnect each of these.

To further solidify the launching of the product, Paul Peterson, Cisco’s Head of Telepresence and Video Sales of APJC, flew to the country to showcase the first Cisco Spark Board, as it was revealed before the media and enterprise customers during the 2017 Philippine Digital Convention held last June 15 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom Hotel. Other executives who were present during the unveiling were Eric Alberto, ePLDT President and PLDT Group CRO, along with select leaders from the Enterprise division led by PLDT Enterprise SVP and Head Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT Group COO Nerisse Ramos, VP for Core Business Solutions Joseph Ian Gendrano, and Cisco’s Country Manager Enrique Rodriguez.

“The emergence of smart devices coupled with the rise of Bring-Your-Own-Device policies, Enterprise Social Networking, and the Internet of Things, levels of workplace interaction have profoundly elevated. The Cisco Spark Board brings a quantum leap to enterprise collaboration, increasing productivity and efficiency across all levels in the organization,” said Jojo Gendrano, PLDT Enterprise VP & Head Core Business Solutions.

“The importance of collaboration in the workplace today is more evident than ever, and PLDT recognizes the need for the right innovations to further improve this process,” added Jovy Hernandez, SVP & Head of PLDT Enterprise. “Through this new technology brought in partnership with Cisco, we are empowering our clients to promote easier and more productive collaborations within their businesses.”
