Power Mac Center Brings Cannes Best Director to Cinemansanas
With Cannes Film Festival Best Director Brillante Mendoza holding sessions, aspiring filmmakers all over the country are invited to apply until July 30, 2017 to the second edition of the Power Mac Center Pixelworx: Cinemansanas.
Along with Masterclass sessions by the award-winning director, this year's edition of Cinemansanas also awaits a digital short film competition, post-production workshops, film scholarship grants, and in-store games which will all be concluded in a Grand Movie Premiere at the SM Mall of Asia Cinema.
Only 23 will be selected to join the extensive three-day acting, directing, and cinematography workshop, where Director Brillante Mendoza will share techniques on how to make movie concepts come to life.
Power Mac Center Marketing Director Joey Alvarez said that their goal is "to discover emerging filmmakers who can showcase originality, imagination, and the ability to engage audiences with masterpieces shared via social media ─ a space where stories never stand still and always move forward."
"We are challenging them to be brave, bold, and brilliant in sharing their voice,” Alvarez added.
To continue persuading artists to try unconventional fields, another digital short film competition for videos shot and edited using Apple devices will take place through Pixelworx: Cinemansanas "Do you have a Minute Film Competition."
Entries for this can be about any subject, should not be longer than 60 seconds and needs to be submitted on August 25, 2017. Moreover, submitted entries should not be used for other competitions prior to this event.
For this competition, Power Mac Center Apple Certified trainers will conduct post-production workshops on Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X. Slots for the online registration are limited. To join, kindly visit https://goo.gl/9SC9ai.
Non-filmmakers who have what it takes to act on-the-spot and make a famous movie line can still join the Cinemansanas through in-store activities and will have the chance to win two movie tickets for free if chosen as Best Actor of the day.
Aside from these workshops, Power Mac Center sent 15 aspiring filmmakers a scholarship grant to Rebelde Film Camp. Icons of Philippine cinema like Kidlat Tahimik, Ricky Lee, and Lee Briones-Meily will help hone the aspiring filmmakers during the five-day jamboree in the secluded place. Power Mac Center made sure to carefully choose participants from all over the Philippines.
