Over a hundred of local auto mechanics from the province of Rizal, and cities of Pasay and Makati gathered as the leading innovator of motor care products introduced the application process and received entries of the nationwide search scholarship program.

These pocket events were held at the Max’s Restaurant in Antipolo City and the Aurum One Hotel in Makati City respectively.

“We are conducting these pocket events to reach as many mechanics as possible to let them know about our scholarship program,” said Monique Gonzales, brand manager of PRESTONE. “The grant is our way of giving back to our local auto mechanics who have journeyed with us through the years in our mission to drive safety and security for drivers and their families.”

Also, PRESTONE also conducted its Certification Program for the attendees, which entitle them to get product discounts and freebies. Plus, the legendary brand also unveiled the new PRESTONE Motor Oil Line through a product orientation.

“Our pocket events serve as a venue not just to inform our mechanics about the scholarship program but also to give them an extra knowledge about the applications of PRESTONE products, especially our new motor oils which will come handy whenever they fix their customer’s vehicles,” said Lawrence Rodriguez, technical consultant of PRESTONE.

The Anak ng Mekaniko Program is PRESTONE’s initiative to pay tribute to the local auto mechanics as the unsung heroes of the automotive industry by giving their son or daughter the chance to earn a tertiary level education as the brand celebrates its 90th year in the business as the leading innovator of cutting-edge coolants, brake fluid, and motor oils.

The program is open to all high school graduates, graduating senior high school students, passers of Alternative Learning System (ALS), or Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT), as well as to those individuals who want to go back and complete their college education. Submission of entries is ongoing until February 15, 2018, through the upcoming pocket event legs that are set to be staged in Quezon City, Tacloban, and Davao.

These students will be undergoing the screening process and at the end, PRESTONE will select nine ANAK NG MEKANIKO Scholars who will be granted a full scholarship for a four-year course of their choice in any STI Colleges branch, nationwide. Aside from the tuition fees, the grant also includes stipends, as well as allowances for books and uniforms.
