Qualcomm Announces Availability of DragonBoard Platform

Qualcomm has announced the availability of the DragonBoard platform. Based on a Snapdragon 800 series processor, the DragonBoard is platform that allows software technology vendors, hardware component vendors, embedded developers, and universities to use a Qualcomm platform in their research and development. Pre-loaded with Android OS, the DragonBoard consists of a complete System on Module (SoM) with a Snapdragon processor, a mini-ITX carrier board, and a peripheral kit.

The Qualcomm DragonBoard platform comes in mini-ITX form factor.

Now available, the DragonBoard was previously demonstrated during the Consumer Electronics Show and the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. Some applications in which the DragonBoard was used include a photo booth and an interactive kitchen display. Qualcomm sees the vast potential of the DragonBoard in arcade machines, digital signage, kiosks, robotics, ruggedized handheld devices, and video surveillance.
