One of the most anticipated features rumored to debut on the iPhone 8, the onscreen Touch ID feature, might not be coming to the new flagship iPhone device this year.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has canceled its plan to introduce the onscreen Touch ID. Last month, Kuo revealed that the iPhone 8 would not come with Touch ID fingerprint sensor of any kind too.

This was supported by the latest Bloomberg report, suggesting that Apple is testing 3D face scanning on the next iPhone, and it might replace the physical Touch ID.

In a separate leak, Chinese leakster @富士康小弟 posted a photo of the purported iPhone 8 taken from a Foxconn factory. The iPhone 8 appears to have a rear-mounted Touch ID just below the Apple logo. Since the authenticity of the photo and reliability of the source are not verified, there is a possibility that we are looking at a fake iPhone model.
