The Xperia M4 Aqua is a mid-range smartphone that brings some of the capabilities of the Z series to the mid-range device category, and tops it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with integrated 4G LTE connectivity and up to two-day battery life for full octa-core 64-bit processing prowess.

Like the Xperia Z before it, the Xperia M4 Aqua features Sony's "Omni-Balance" design, which creates balance and symmetry in all directions. and will be available in a choice of White, Black, Coral and Silver.

Stamina mode optimizes the use of the Xperia M4 Aqua’s battery by shutting off all functions except the core ones, allowing it to run for up to a week on a single charge. The Xperia M4 Aqua also enjoys the same IP65/8 rated waterproofing, with a body that’s been re-engineered for cap-less micro-USB charging that allows for flexible usage wherever you are.

With IP65/8 rated waterproofing, you can really take the Xperia M4 Aqua everywhere.

The Xperia M4 Aqua has a 13MP rear camera powered by Sony’s Exmor RS mobile sensor with a f/2.0 aperture, and ISO sensitivity up to 3200 that’s supported by Sony’s intelligent Superior Auto Mode that automatically senses up to 52 different scenarios, adjusting for optimal settings each time. Meanwhile, there’s a 5MP front-facing camera with an 88 degree field-of-view super wide-angle lens for perfect selfies and wefies, all editable later with the Portrait Retouch app.

Staying consistent with the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system it’s using, the Xperia M4 Aqua has an interface from Sony that keeps largely to the Android material design, with a minimalist approach to user interface, interactions and native apps. All Xperia M4 Aqua owners will also get access to the Xperia Lounge Silver, bringing them apps, software updates, entertainment, bespoke offers and tips delivered throughout the product lifecycle. There will even be bonus film clips and television episodes via the Privilege Plus Movies app, though the availability may vary according to region and operator.

Xperia M4 Aqua will launch in 80 countries worldwide, across more than 100 carrier partners from Spring 2015. Pricing information is yet to be announced.
