Sony Officially Launches NWZ-WH303 and NWZ-WH505 WH Series Walkman Music Players

Sony Philippines launched the WH Series Walkman music players together with the SRS-BTS50 speakers at Glorietta 2 in Makati City.

After making an initial appearance at the launch of the “One Touch, One Christmas” campaign last October, Sony’s WH series Walkman music players NWZ-WH303 and NWZ-WH505 are now officially available in stores. Adopting the circumaural headphone form factor, the NWZ-WH303 and the NWZ-WH505 diverge from the design standard of W series Walkman music players, which sport an in-ear form factor.

The NWZ-WH303 is composed of two 30mm dome-type headphones with a frequency range of 30Hz to 20kHz, has 4GB built-in storage that can handle up to 960 songs, and can last up to 20 hours. Meanwhile, the NWZ-WH505 comes with two bigger 40mm dome-type headphones, wider frequency range of 5Hz to 25kHz, and larger 16GB onboard storage that can hold up to 3,900 songs. Physically, the two models primarily differ in terms of earcups. The NWZ-WH303 earcups are plastic, whereas those of the NWZ-WH505 are metallic.

The WH series Walkman music players also offer an option to play songs like a portable speaker. Unlike the new W series models, the NWZ-WH303 and the NWZ-WH505 are not waterproof. Both devices can recognize AAC-LC, MP3, and WMA audio formats. Locally, the NWZ-WH303 costs PhP 5,999, whereas the NWZ-WH505 retails for PhP 9,999.
