Sony Philippines Launches New Xperia Lineup and SmartBand

Sony executives share the stage with host Raymond Gutierrez and brand ambassadors Liz and Laureen Uy to pose with the new Xperia products.

Following the announcement of Sony's new range of mobile devices earlier this year, the local Sony team staged an event that officially brought its latest gadgets to the Philippines, headed by the Xperia Z2 and SmartBand, as well as a couple of new brand ambassadors.

Sony bombarded the Philippine media with a bevy of gadgets that fluidly mix fashion and technology. We've seen most of these mobile devices showcased at MWC last month, and now Filipinos will have a chance to experience Sony's offerings for themselves. We're talking about the Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia M2, Xperia E1, and finally, the SmartBand.

Check out the links below for our full coverage of each product:

For sisters Liz and Laureen Uy, technology and fashion go hand in hand.

Another important bit of news was the introduction of Sony's new pair of brand ambassadors for its Xperia line. Philippine fashion icons and sisters Laureen and Liz Uy embody the company's vision of a tech- and style-infused world.

“I embrace trends that challenge the status quo and with wearable devices such as my SmartBand. I carry my social life and entertainment wherever I go in one timely, fashionable piece,” said stylist Liz Uy. Sister and fashion blogger Laureen Uy added, “I can make each moment count by Lifelogging and easily keep track of everything I do with the Lifelog app.”

The Xperia VIP service comes bundled with Sony's latest premium gadgets.

Finally, Sony unveiled its Xperia VIP card, which entitles premium Xperia users to an exclusive suite of services for their devices. Card holders can avail of the following: free pickup and delivery of a malfunctioning device, a guaranteed loaner unit while your handset is being repaired, guaranteed seven-business-day turnaround time within key cities, and VIP express lane access in authorized service centers. The VIP services are applicable only to the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z1 Compact, Z2, and Tablet Z2 for now. Future models will be added to the list once they're released in the country.
