With rumors about Apple's next-generation iPad, the iPad 3, circulating the Internet, spammers are also riding on the hype and are eager to take advantage of those who can't wait to get the new iPad. Symantec reported that some spammers even went as far as to introduce themselves as Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, through email. The email states that Facebook has partnered with Apple and is giving away an iPad 3 for free. If the unsuspecting recipient will click the supplied link in the email, it will go to a site that attempts to retrieve personal information.

In order to avoid becoming a victim of spams, here are some tips from Symantec:

  • Do not click on suspicious links in email messages.
  • Avoid providing any personal information when answering an email.
  • Never enter personal information in a pop-up page or screen.
  • When entering personal or financial information, ensure the website is encrypted with an SSL certificate by looking for the padlock, ‘https’, or the green address bar.

Meanwhile, below are some of the items that we have gathered from the Internet about the iPad 3 as well as the rumored iPad 2S.
