CES 2014 witnessed the unveiling of some notebook PCs with 4K display (3840 x 2160) like Toshiba’s Tecra W50 and the updated Satellite P50t. But a month before the grand tech event in Las Vegas, MSI introduced to the world its first 3K gaming notebook – the GT60 2OC-3K Edition. The notebook’s LED-backlit display measures 15.6 inches diagonally and features 2880 x 1620 screen resolution. A display with such qualities would not be maximized without a powerful graphics engine to back it. Hence, MSI has equipped the GT60 2OC-3K Edition with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 770M with 3GB DDR5 VRAM.

Other hardware components that make the GT60 2OC-3K Edition a behemoth of a laptop include an Intel Core i7-4700MQ quad-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 2TB HDD storage (2x 1TB HDDs in RAID 0), and a 9-cell battery. The GT60 2OC-3K Edition also comes with a Super-Multi DVD+/-RW drive, Killer DoubleShot (Killer Ethernet + Killer Wi-Fi), HD web camera, built-in card reader, HDMI, and USB 3.0. The MSI GT60 2OC-3K Edition sells for PhP 109,995, making it less expensive than the Alienware 14 gaming notebook which costs PhP 119,999.
