Less than a week after unveiling the Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi announced the Redmi 1S 4G. It will be available for purchase in China this Saturday, August 16 for 699 yuan (estimated PhP 4,996 based on currency rates at press time). 

Do note that the Redmi 1S 4G currently supports TD-LTE. The Redmi 1S 4G is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1GB RAM, MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4 KitKat, and a slightly bigger 2200mAh battery.

The MediaTek MT6582 is a chip that powers many of today's low-end and midrange smartphones, such as the Acer Liquid E700, Gionee Pioneer P4, MyPhone Agua Rio and Ocean Elite, Starmobile SkyLenovo S650, S660, S850, and S930.

The other specs remain similar which include a 4.7-inch 720p display, an internal storage capacity of 8GB, microSD expansion up to 32GB, Bluetooth 4.0 LE + Bluetooth 3.0 HS, and an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture.
