Augmenting their ZenFone 3 range of smartphones, ASUS Philippines officially introduced their follow-up to the ZenFone Zoom, the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Gone is the leather back of the original zoom replaced by the sleek aesthetic of the ZenFone 3 range. The brand has also upgraded the main camera to dual 12-megapixel cameras.

As mentioned, the star of the show is the dual 12-megapixel rear cameras. One sensor is a Sony IMX362 sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, laser AF, wide angle lens, with SuperPixel Technology. The Zoom also incorporates a 12-megapixel Zoom Camera with up to 2.3x optical zoom and 12x zoom.

Located at the front is a 13-megapixel Sony IMX 214 sensor with a screen flash so your selfies will turn out beautifully despite different lighting conditions.

The battery has also been upgraded to 5000mAh, which ASUS advertises to have a standby time of 42 days and 4K video recording that can last up to 6.4 hours.

Internally, not much has changed with the ZenFone 3 Zoom compared to the ZenFone 3. The new Zoom is armed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD slot. The screen is the same as well with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display. In terms of connectivity, the Zoom departs from the microUSB connector of the original Zoom replaced by a USB Type-C connector.

Available in the market starting next week, the ZenFone 3 Zoom is priced at PhP 23,995 and is available in Navy Black, Glacier Silver, and Rose Gold. For early adaptors that pre-ordered the Zoom will include a Zoom Clear Case, ASUS ZenEar, and a JBL Portable Bluetooth Speaker.
